Tulsa City Council Meeting Highlights: September 17, 2025

The Tulsa City Council addressed key financial, public health, and land-use initiatives during its regular session. Below are the main decisions and discussions from the meeting:

Major Financial and Capital Project Approvals

The Council adopted several ordinances to fund large-scale infrastructure and manage city debt:

  • General Obligation Bonds: An ordinance was approved authorizing the issuance of $17,705,000 in General Obligation Bonds, Series 2025A.
  • Wastewater Facility Investment: A significant budget amendment was passed, dedicating $20 million from sewer revenue bonds to build a Fertilizer Production Facility at the Haikey Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant.
  • Budget Adjustments: Amendments were approved for funds related to storm water management, forensic nursing services, and other departmental needs.

Public Health Policy: Opioid Awareness Day

In a key public health measure, the Council formally adopted a proclamation designating September 21, 2025, as Opioid Awareness Day in the City of Tulsa.

  • Crisis Focus: The measure acknowledged the severity of the local crisis, noting the rapid rise in overdose deaths involving fentanyl.
  • Mitigation Efforts: The proclamation highlighted city programs like the Tulsa Fire Department’s Overdose Response Team (OORT), which works to distribute naloxone (Narcan) and connect citizens with recovery resources.

Land Use and Administrative Relief

Specific property-related issues and administrative decisions were addressed:

  • Development Approvals: The Council approved the final plat for the Crossover Community Development edition and several applications for rezoning.
  • Administrative Fee Waiver: A request to waive a $300 administrative fee for a property owner was granted. The fee, incurred for debris cleanup after the 2023 Father’s Day storm, was waived after the Council determined the fee was the result of a convoluted city work order process.
  • Tourism Support: A resolution was passed to support the renovation and installation of a dinosaur statue at Howard Park to boost local tourism tied to Route 66.

But I guess in a way this isnt a post as it is hard coded into the site.. but making a full server and everything may not be the easiest thing. Its do able, but I don't feel like running my PC as a server right now, and I can't nativly port forward on my PC so like I wouldntt be able to access it from anywhere else. Its not 100% how I like it, and some of the CSS could still be edited for sure, but its prettty cool! and its not even that much lines either, only about 160 lines of CSS...

Hmm.. A 3rd Blog Post

October 2, 2025

Lets talk about them drums, cause I was doing really good the other nigth! I mainly play drums along with Clone hero, which is like guitar hero but better and for PCs! I had to get some special cables for it, and I had to find a way to still be able to talk on call while I'm over there so I can chat with people. I ended up taking my mic off the arm.. but that didnt work well, then I took the entire mic arm off, and tthatt worked just it took a few minutes. As of recently I have been taking the arm out of the mount part and using a bungie cord to hang it and it works amazingly!! And the audio is all built in with the drum module, all I had to do was use VoiceMeeter to digitaly wire all the audio I need to the different sources because of the way I have things setup!
